This year will be the fifth annual event in Bangalow with festivals sprouting all around Australia including Bangalow, Perth, Forbes, Taree and more. Each year, the festivals continue to grow in the quality and depth of performers and audience. Performers this year include Australian Idol winner, singer and writer Damien Leith along with Blues and roots master guitarist Jeff Lang.

A special highlight this year will be two talks on Friday September 5 and Saturday September 6, by world best selling author and speaker Steve Biddulph.

Steve’s books include Raising boys, Manhood, The Secret of Happy Children and more.

John Butler says about Jeff’s concerts: ‘a totally sacred event. He's the man as far as I'm concerned’ There will also be stunning performances by physical theatre greats like Joel Salom, comic relief with Mandy Nolan and the finals of “Family Idol”. The Festival also includes free kids rides, talks, displays a special cinema dome experience and so much more.

With over eight thousand families of all shapes and sizes this is a powerful example of community celebrating a positive male role.

As men become aware of the impact they have on their children, whether they live with them or not, this creates a change of priorities in favour of children and is part of the positive social change that the festival team is supporting.
